Year for God
How many of us begin the new year with resolutions to improve our lives by new disciplines. We are going to lose weight, learn a new language, be more creative, or stop some habit. Too often we lose our resolve within the first few weeks. It is difficult at best to begin new patterns for our lives... all of us are creatures of habit. However, a few of us actually are able to bring new directions to pass. It involves struggle and determinations, but after a short period of time the new behavior has been incorporated into our lives.
Can you imagine how your life will improve by an emphasis upon your spiritual life? All of us are spiritual beings, but too many of us rarely if at all, place priority upon spiritual growth. The spirit walk is a walk connected to our creator God. The Christian witness is that this God is not some remote, uncaring, entity. In fact, we believe that God has spoken in past ages and continues to speak to whomsoever listens to the still small voice. Do you hear that voice? After the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, a gift was given to humanity. Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven to comfort and guide those who are seeking God. In this guidance, Holy Spirit will lead us to a place that feels like home... heaven.
Won't you allow 2014 to be a year dedicated to seeking God with all your heart? It takes more than a glance to see the beauty of God, but God said that reward came to those who diligently seek. Come, join us, in that search. 2014 can be the beginning of blessing.
the Language of the Spirit...
Heaven is filled with music! The Bible is filled music. The Book of Psalms is in fact a hymnbook for the nation of Israel. Whenever the Israelite armies were sent into battle God reminded them of the peace of being God's people by sending the choir ahead of the infantry. In the church, music helps to direct our eyes heavenward.
The choir at Living Way Church is a critical part of our ministry. That is why we are always looking for "worship warriors" who love Jesus. If you love to sing come and help us to break the yoke of bondage and to rejoice in the Lord. The fall is a very busy time for the church and is an excellent time to re-connect with church and to lift your heart before the Lord in song. Join us this Sunday!!
John Wesley is the founder of the United Methodist Church. Central to His theology was salvation by grace through faith. However one of the key elements of His ministry was understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit. His own heart being strangely warmed at Aldersgate was a personal encounter with Holy Spirit that informed and molded His ministry throughout his life. He believed there was a day coming when a magnificent revival, an outpouring of God glory and mercy would take place..
“The times which we have reason to believe are at hand (if they are not already begun) are what many pious men have termed the time of the "latter-day glory;" meaning the time wherein God would gloriously display his power and love in the fulfillment of his gracious promise, that "knowledge of the Lord shall cover the earth, as the waters of the sea.”
The Word of God is said to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Each Sunday Evening disciples gather to hear God speak to us through scripture. Join Us!
